Utrecht The Netherlands Fort Blauwkapel built between 1881 and 1821 as part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie defences. The defences used a combination of the ability to flood the land and strategically located forts to defend the West of the country. The defences are a candidate for the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
